Matthew Gibson

Coach Matthew Gibson brings senior-level wrestling experience in all three styles of wrestling to Iowa Prodigy. Gibson earned All-American status during his career at Iowa State University, along with two BIG 12 finals appearances and one championship. As a California native, Gibson captured a State JUCO Championship wrestling for Sierra College and was a two-time state place winner (3rd 215-Senior; 4th 189-Junior).

Gibson’s love for the sport of wrestling is not limited to just competing. Throughout his years of collegiate competition, Gibsons built a notable coaching resume. During the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Gibson was the head assistant wrestling coach for Nevada Union high school’s wrestling program in Grass Valley CA. Gibson has also served as a technician for multiple Iowa state wrestling camps and Cyclone wrestling club clinics.


Easton_Kuboushek_2017-1655Coach Easton Kuboushek (Kuh-bow-sheck) is a gifted coach and club director. Most recently he led the revitalization of the Dowling Catholic Mat Club where he tripled the club size and success over three years. He’s coached youth and high school athletes since 2010, producing numerous state qualifiers, place-winners and finalists in the state of Iowa.

While a talented technician and coach, Coach Easton’s greatest strength is developing the contributing characteristics of success off the mat – preparing wrestlers to be great people, as well as great athletes. Coach Easton contributes his passion for the sport to his father, Gary, who instilled a life-long love of wrestling and mentoring young athletes. His success is also made possible by his fiancé, Kristina, whose patience and support are unwavering.
